The Eight Intelligences

The Intelligences are how we see the work: overlapping lenses, not filing folders. A single journey, proposition or piece of architecture can sit under several at once. They do not replace our doctrine (Owned Autonomy), our reference architecture (C3), or our capability units (Domain Building Blocks); they connect them.

This is the master view. Each lens has its own page for depth, and the journeys show several working together, so the model stays coherent as the thinking evolves.

Why eight, and why they overlap

Real journeys do not sit in one box. Each draws on several Intelligences at once, which is why we read every piece of work through all eight rather than filing it under one.

The eight lenses

Follow a lens to go deeper.

Experience Intelligence

How customers and institutions experience a journey, and whether it delivers good, inclusive outcomes they understand and can act on.

Explore →

Capability Intelligence

How human and organisational capability (Skills, Knowledge, Judgment) is understood, composed and grown to deliver outcomes.

Explore →

Cognitive Intelligence

How humans and machines reason and act together: where reasoning sits, what agents may do, and how decisions are explained and intervened in.

Explore →

Value Intelligence

How value is represented, exchanged, governed, settled and measured, from payments and deposits to tokenised value.

Explore →

Trust Intelligence

How justified trust is earned among customers, institutions, regulators and systems through consent, privacy, inclusion and evidence.

Explore →

Platform Intelligence

How systems evolve: composability, interoperability, coexistence with the core, governed data and runtime architecture.

Explore →

Control Intelligence

How accountable leaders set authority, observe outcomes, intervene and evidence control continuously.

Explore →

Financial Intelligence

Understanding the P&L of change early: the as-is cost base, the target operating-model cost, and the transition between them. The CFO lens, interlocked with the others.

Three themes across all eight

Preservation, Evolution and Augmentation cut across every Intelligence.

Preservation

Retain knowledge, evidence, capability and institutional memory.

Evolution

Operate old and new worlds together and migrate safely.

Augmentation

Enable humans and machines to think and act together.
